Five arrested for raping minor in Bauchi
Police have arrested five suspects over alleged raping of minor in Zadawa village, Misau local government area of Bauchi state.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Bauchi state police command, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil made this known in a crime bulletin he circulated to newsmen on Tuesday.
He said, one Yusuf Muhammad ‘m’ and Dan’juma Muhammad ‘m’ of area 2 Misau LGA, Bauchi State have on 12/08/2025 at about 2230hrs reported the matter at Misau Divisional Police Headquarters.
CSP Wakil said the duo had reported that sometimes in the month of July, 2025 one Sulaiman Adamu ‘m’ aged 42yrs, Umar Adamu ‘m’ aged 45yrs Musa Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 40yrs shu’aibu Abubakar ‘m’ aged 47yrs all of Zadawa village, Misau LGA, individually use monetary incentives and lured their daughter (name withheld) into various places of their convenience and raped her deceitfully.
The PPRO said, upon receipt of the report, detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene where they evacuated the victim to Federal Medical Centre, Misau, for medical examination, while the suspects were arrested for investigation.
He disclosed that a medical examination conducted at the Federal Medical Centre, Misau, indicated that the victim was penetrated with some seminal fluid within her vulva and private part.
According to him, during interrogation, both suspects freely confessed to the alleged crime committed.
The PPRO said the first suspect (Muhammad Sunusi) confessed to having nurtured the private part of the minor since she was at aged of 5yrs, when she use to play in his house with her age mates.
CSP Wakil further explained that the other suspects also narrated their own version of the story on how they lured the little girl with various monetary offers into having sexual intercourse with her on different occasions.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Bauchi, to thoroughly investigate the case and charge the suspects to court.
