There was panic at the Murtala Muhammed Airport access road on Wednesday, as a truck laden with fuel caught fire, causing traffic snarl for several hours. The incident occurred at about 4 pm.
In the ensuing confusion, many passengers scheduled to travel through the new and old domestic terminals, as well as the international terminal, missed their flights.
According to sources, the tanker, which belongs to a petroleum company, HEIZOL, was reportedly conveying diesel from Apapa to an undisclosed location in Ogba, when it burst into flames.
