The iconic FIFA senior World Cup trophy will be in the country on March 3, 2018 it has been announced.
The NFF’s General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, told thenff.com that confirmation has come from world football –governing body, FIFA, that Nigeria is among the countries where the trophy would make a stop over during its global tour.
“We have confirmation now. The World Cup trophy will be in Nigeria on 3rd March 2018,” Sanusi said.
The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour is a chance for fans to see the Original FIFA World Cup Trophy.
Fans from all over the world will have the opportunity of seeing the trophy and having their photos taken with the famous diadem from 9th September 2017 to 7th June 2018.
It will be thrilling for fans to catch a glimpse of what the Super Eagles and 31 other teams will be competing for at the 21st FIFA World Cup finals in Russia next summer.
