32-page now N100,000, 64-page N200,000 as FG raises passport fees from September 1

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of passport application fees, with the new rates set to take effect on September 1, 2025.

The announcement was made on Thursday by ACI AS Akinlabi, the service public relations officer of the NIS.

Under the revised structure, a 32-page passport with five-year validity will now cost N100,000, while a 64-page passport with 10-year validity will be issued at N200,000.

The NIS said the adjustment applies only to applications made in Nigeria. Fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport and $230 for the 64-page option.

“In a bid to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Passport, the Nigeria Immigration Service hereby announces an upward review of Nigerian Standard Passport fees, set to take effect on 1st September, 2025,” the Service said.

It added that the review was necessary to “balance quality service delivery with the need to ensure passport services are accessible to all Nigerians.”

The price adjustments come barely a year after a similar announcement.

In August 2024, the federal government increased the prices of passport booklets from N35,000 to N50,000 for a 32-page, five-year booklet, and from N70,000 to N100,000 for a 64-page, 10-year booklet.
