Federal Fire Service to Deploy 420 Fire-Fighters in Four States
Ahead of Saturday’s elections, the Federal Fire Service, Friday said, it will deploy 420 fire-fighters in four states of the federation in its bid to ensure safety during the polls.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Mr Collins Elechi, the personnel will be deployed to strategic places in four states where it has offices.
These states are Lagos, Rivers and Kaduna as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
“FFS has always been involved in ensuring safety in every election and this coming election will not be an exception. The service is deploying 420 fire-fighters to strategic places to ensure safety of lives and property during the election process in Lagos, Rivers and Kaduna states and the FCT.
“They will be complemented by their state counterparts across the 36 states of the federation and FCT, in the drive to monitor sensitive places like INEC offices, collation centres and polling centres.
“This is for quick intervention for the safety of lives and electoral materials in those places in case of unforeseen circumstances,” he said.
