Why FCTA demolished Lugbe building market – Umar

The FCTA administration Wednesday, has explained rational behind the demolition of entire Lugbe building materials market at the airport road Abuja.

Addressing a section of the media during the exercise, the co-ordinator AMMC, Umar Shuiabu said the action became necessary in order to ensure safety of those trading under the high tension line, as well as make room for commencement of electricity supply project along the line.

“This exercise is about clearing the path along this transmission line. We are improving our power facilities in the country but unfortunately you find people trading under it. You can imagine how dangerous this is because these are materials that are highly inflammable anytime due to the high radiation,” he said.
