FCTA commended for effective healthcare services

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has been commended for improving the quality of healthcare services rendered to residents of the city and those from neighbouring states who on daily basis troop into the Abuja for treatment.

The commendation was contained in a letter written to the FCT minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, by members of the FCT minister’s Press Corps.

According to the letter, the commendation became necessary due to the successful lower spine surgery carried on the corps’ chairman, Mr. Attah Ikharo. The surgery was done to address a bone disk prolapsed on his lumbar vertebra, precisely between Lumber 4 and 5.

The Corps added that a surgery many prefer to undergo in very standard private hospitals, both home and abroad was carried out at a general or district hospital as it is called in Abuja.

The men of the pen profession added that their belief in government-owned health facilities and the services they rendered has been further strengthened.

Also commended in letter were the General Manager of the FCT Hospital Management Board, Dr. Aminu Mai and the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Uche Afiomah, who were very supportive and ensure that the surgery went well.

The press corps specially singled out the Doctor/Neuro surgeon who led the medical team that carried out the over seven hour comprehensive surgery, Dr. Alvan Okachukwu for commendation also.

They however charged the FCT Administration not to relent but work harder to build more health institutions due to the massive movement of people in the city on daily basis.
