FCT disburses N1.942bn for Sept. to Area councils

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) has distributed the sum of N1, 942,579,416.12 to the six Area Councils in the territory and statutory stakeholders for the month of September, 2017.

The Secretary, Area Councils Services Secretariat (ACSS), Mallam Adamu Abubakar Bappah, made the disclosure during the JAAC meeting recently.

According to him, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) received the highest share of N149, 091,908.42, followed by Gwagwalada Area Council, N141, 944,920.12.

Kwali Area Council received the sum of N119,450,595.99, Kuje Area Council got N116,011,997.02, and Bwari Area Council took home N115,361,359.72, while Abaji Area Council received N106,552,156.34.

In addition, the Secretary stated that stakeholders such as Primary school teachers received N1, 005,783,084.68 while 15% Pension Funds got N95, 040,159.75 with 1% Training Fund receiving the sum of N19, 425,794.16. The 10% Employer Pension Contribution (21st installment of 23 months) banked N73, 917,439.85.

Bappah also disclosed that the sum of N93, 899,132.63 was 10% FCT’s share of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) was also distributed to the Area Councils.

Consequently, AMAC and Bwari received N35,681,670.40 and N13,400,098.66 respectively, while Kuje, Gwagwalada and Kwali each got N12,226,399.65, N11,484,062.20 and N11,224,303.75 respectively, while Abaji went home with N9,882,597.97.

He said the total money distributed to the stakeholders, therefore, summed up as N1,194,166,478.44 , with Area Councils receiving the sum of N748,412,937.64 with10% IGR N93,899,132.63.
