Family Escapes Kidnap Attempt As Threats Against Man Heightens After Testifying In Defilement Case.

Tragedy was however averted in Lagos State when the family of a man identified as Zoe Obinna Ogugua narrowly escaped a kidnapped attempt during a weekend visit to Mega Chicken, a popular fast food eatery in Lagos State

It was gathered that kidnappers in February 2023 in a Mercedes Benz car earlier trailed Zoe Obinna Ogugua and his family in their Lexus RX 300 to the eatery but were said to be unsuccessful in their desperation .

An eyewitness account who recounted events leading to the failed kidnap disclosed that no sooner had Zoe Obinna Ogugua gone into the eatery to get some foods for his family while in the car, another car pulled up and some men immediately walked towards his car while the engine was still running.

It was further gathered that while Zoe Obinna Ogugua’s wife immediately turned on the central lock of the car as instructed by her husband and unknown to her that they were being trailed, the kidnapper who forcefully wanted to take away the car with the family in it were unable to gain access into the car while her husband stepped into the fast food to get some food for his family in the car .

Visibly Irked by their inability to kidnap his family while waiting in the car, the kidnappers were said to have angrily smashed the body of the Lexus RX 300 and instantly drove off, an action that later attracted the attention of passers-by as Zoe Obinna Ogugua immediately rushed down to the car park to meet his family who were already in panic mood, it was confirmed.

Meanwhile, trouble was said to have started for the embattled Zoe Obinna Ogugua in 2018 immediately he testified in a case of Defilement of two minors in Festac axis of Lagos State against an IPOB member in 2018.

It was however gathered that Zoe Obinna Ogugua being of the Southeastern extraction in Nigeria became instantly exposed to several death threats immediately after the IPOB member was given double sentence in July 2022 .

A close family source who craved anonymity disclosed that Zoe Obinna Ogugua was earlier attacked by unknown gunmen in his Lake-view estate who during the attack smashed his windshield and side-mirrors after leaving behind death -threats letter in his car and escaping through an exit gate in the estate.

It was said that in another instance, unknown gunmen on his trail in Lagos State drove past him with his family in the car and pointed a gun at them while driving as it was later gathered that his assailants threatened to leave an axe in his skull and have his 2 daughters raped in their next attack.

Meanwhile, as the obvious threats to the life of Zoe Obinna Ogugua, a serving pastor with Bride Assembly church in Lagos State and father of 3 children, heightens, the immediate whereabouts of the embattled Zoe Obinna Ogugua and his family remain unknown as there is no end in sight to the several death threats to his life.
