Shaka Hislop says Liverpool’s busy fixture schedule is catching up to them after their disappointing FA Cup exit.
Wolves caused an FA Cup shock at Anfield as they eliminated Liverpool with a 2-1 fourth-round victory.
This year has not been kind to Liverpool with just one win — over League Two Plymouth in a third-round replay — in eight matches now and the writing was on the wall after just 52 seconds when Richard Stearman headed home a free kick.
Andreas Weimann made it two for the visitors shortly before the break as he ran through the middle to easily round Loris Karius before slotting home for his first goal for the club.
Divock Origi sparked a frantic last five minutes when he pulled one back late on from close range for Liverpool and then had a shot cleared off the line, but the Championship club held on for the win.

Tottenham came from behind to secure a 4-3 victory at home to League Two side Wycombe with Son Heung-Min scoring a 97th-minute winner.
The White Hart Lane faithful were silenced in the 24th minute when Wycombe took the lead, with Paul Hayes volleying in after Spurs failed to deal with a corner.
And things got even better for the visitors when they doubled their advantage after 36 minutes as Hayes bagged a second, this time from the penalty spot after Sam Wood was brought down by Cameron Carter-Vickers in the area.
Tottenham pulled one back through Son on the hour-mark, with the South Korean finding the back of the net from a tight angle, and then found an equaliser four minutes later through a Vincent Janssen penalty after the Dutchman had been brought down by Aaron Pierre.
Garry Thompson popped up six minutes from time to head in a Myles Weston cross to seemingly win it for Wycombe, but Dele Alli came to Spurs’ rescue with an 89th minute equaliser, before Son sent White Hart Lane wild with a winner seven minutes into added time.
National League side Lincoln knocked Championship leaders Brighton out of the competition with a stunning 3-1 home win.
Brighton had taken the lead through Richard Towell after 24 minutes, but the hosts turned the game on its head inside the space of five minutes in the second half — Alan Power converted a 57th-minute penalty before Fikayo Tomori scored a 62nd-minute own goal. Theo Robinson made sure of the result for Lincoln with a finish five minutes from time.
Championship club Newcastle suffered an FA Cup shock, going down 3-0 to League One side Oxford with Kane Hemmings, Curtis Nelson and Antonio Martinez getting on the score sheet.
Danny Welbeck recorded his first multi-goal game since Oct. 2014, but does this warrant a place in Arsenal’s starting XI?
Danny Welbeck scored two and created another in his first start of the season and Theo Walcott bagged a hat trick as Arsenal eased to a 5-0 victory at Southampton.
Welbeck, who has been eased back into the Gunners’ team following a knee injury, opened the scoring at St Mary’s on 15 minutes with a brilliant dinked finish after being slipped in by Lucas Perez. And the England international added a second seven minutes later, this time bringing down an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ball before slotting past Harry Lewis.
Welbeck then turned provider 10 minutes before half-time as he rolled the ball across the face of goal for Theo Walcott to convert from close range.
Southampton showed little response in the second half and Walcott got his second of the evening to make it four in the 68th minute, firing into the bottom corner after being picked out by substitute Alexis Sanchez before completing his hat trick in the 85th minute, linking up again with Sanchez and then slotting past Lewis.
Chelsea eased to victory against Brentford with a 4-0 victory over the Championship club at Stamford Bridge.
Willian opened the scoring on 14 minutes with an excellent free kick, sending the ball over the wall and into the top corner of the net.
And Pedro doubled the hosts’ lead seven minutes later, latching onto Michy Batshuayi’s ball before slotting through the legs of Daniel Bentley.
Branislavc Ivanovic made it three for Chelsea in the second half, taking hold of Pedro’s pass before firing home, with Batshuayi adding a fourth late on from the penalty spot.

Sam Vokes and Steven Defour scored as Burnley saw off Bristol City with a 2-0 win at Turf Moor.
Vokes scored on the stroke of half-time for the hosts, firing into the corner of the net, before Defour made it two on 68 minutes with a lob over Fabian Giefer.
Stewart Downing scored the winner as Middlesbrough beat Accrington Stanley 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium.
Boro had to wait for 69 minutes before breaking the deadlock against the League Two side but did so in style as Downing rifled home a strike from outside the area.
Blackburn eased to a 2-0 victory against 10-man Blackpool to book their place in the next round.
Sam Gallagher stuck on nine minutes, before Elliott Bennett made it two for Blackburn 13 minutes later. Blackpool were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute with Kelvin Mellor receiving his marching orders.
Michael Hefele scored a brace for Huddersfield as they swept aside Rochdale with a 4-0 win.
Hefele netted two goals in the final 18 minutes after Collin Quaner and an Isaiah Brown penalty had put Huddersfield on their way to victory.
