Eyiboh sets agenda for transformation of Cross River Basin Authority

The newly appointed Chairman of Cross River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, says the call on him to serve by President Muhammadu Buhari, was an invitation to trigger new innovations and jump-start reforms that will reposition the basin authority and make it play the expected role in Nigeria’s economic growth.

Speaking with newsmen in Uyo Friday, Eyiboh whose appointment, alongside others was announced last week by President Buhari appreciated the president for finding him fit for the appointment.

He said, “President Muhammadu Buhari has graciously invested on me the public trust to trigger innovations and jump-start reforms in Cross River Basin Development Authority through the oversight of its core mandate and supervision of public policy implementation.”

Eyiboh, who once served as spokesperson of the House of Representatives during the 7th assembly promised to open to what he termed “treasured advisory” from stakeholders and organizations in the agency.

He also promised to work and instil ethical integrity and the requirements for effective and transparent corporate governance and attendant core values in the authority.

He insisted that “Our national institutions need leadership that replicates the integrity demonstrated by President Buhari so as to get the nation on the right path of wholesome development and progress.”

According to Eyiboh, “I shall be guided by our collective respect for self discipline, responsible and accountable leadership. I promise to assume this responsibility with my name and end my tour of duty with commendations and honour.”

He sued for prayers and support from people of goodwill to enable him succeed in his new assignment and charged Nigerians, from all walks of life, to continue supporting the Buhari administration so as to make Nigeria great again.
