Ex-Rep Member Accuse Emefiele Of Recession

Leo Dilkon, a fomer House of Representative Member, who represented, Pankshin/Kanke/
Kanam federal constituency between 2003 and 2007, yesterday, accused the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele of being the evil brain responsible for the current economic recession.

Dilkon, who owned a large printing press, stated that the current economic down turn is as a result of the frustration indigenous company are currently facing, said that the Central bank has refuse to sell forex to real indigenous businessmen like him.

According to him, “CBN has constantly denied me forex and other local investors. They prefer to give to fake businessmen like Vicampro company. Instead of the federal government to invest in already indigenous established company they rather prefer to travel abroad and shop for foreign investors because it is easy for them to manipulate figures in that regard.

“Most of the figures that ran into billions of dollars we hear on a daily basis, is all a scam, because you don’t need that much to set up a company locally. I say this because it only cost me US$500 million to set up this state of the art printing press”.

Dilkon is also quoted saying that the CBN is frustrating indigenous investors at a time the federal goverment is promoting local investment in the country. “The machines I have in this press, were brought in by the support I am receiving from Germany because they see my commitment in having this investment. But I don’t get forex from the CBN to import raw materials, because the CBN governor would rather give such privilege to fake businessmen than genuine investors”, he said.

The former House Member also opined that the FG should not contemplate selling the country’s National Assets, as those whom will turn around to buy it are also the same people who are in government and will mismanage it as have mismanaged the once sold in the past.
