Tsav died on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, during an illness.
He was aged 82 and is survived by his wife, and six children.
He was buried on Monday evening in accordance with Islamic rotes.
Ode said that Tsav served Nigeria with honestly and respect, stating that “Tsav will be remembered for standing by the truth and fighting for the less privileged.”

The group said in a statement that Tsav contributed much in shaping public service through his anti- corruption stance.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Dr. Aondoakaa Asambe, the group described Tsav as a fearless and courageous elder statesman who fought for the people.
“Abubakar Tsav that I have known and related with him the past 20 years was generous, fearless, courageous and disciplined. He lived a life free of corrupt practices; he had a very strong desire for a better and just society. He lived a life worthy of emulation.
“Tsav has indeed left an indelible mark on the sands of history. Tiv, Benue and indeed Nigeria lost a rare gem and a very strong anti-corruption voice in Tsav,” the group said.
