Ex-Gov Aliyu loses another elder brother

Barely 10 days after losing his immediate elder brother, the former governor of Niger state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has lost another elder brother in Minna the state capital.
A family member, Mallam Umar Abubakar, said the 78-year-old man died as a result of complication from the partial stroke he was managing. He was the eldest member of the Mu’azu family.
Mallam Abubakar said he died on Arafat Day, a special day for Muslims, adding that; “Alhaji Maikano was a very person. Allah has deemed it fit to take him on Arafat Day. The day is so special that we know Allah will grant him mercy and Aljana Firdaus”
He said the deceased was the Fakacin Minna in Minna Emirate council. He said that the council will miss his vast experience as a retired judge who adjudicated for the emirate, adding that the family will miss his wise counsel.
The 78-year-old is said to have died in his sleep yesterday evening. He was married with several children and grandchildren. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
