Equities market turnover improves 45%

The turnover recorded at the Nigerian Stock Exchange improved by 45 percent on Thursday as Market indicators of The Nigerian Stock Exchange; the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.52 percent each,
The All Share Index closed at 25,753.00 against the previous close of 25,620.94 while Market Capitalization closed at N8.911 trillion against previous close of N8.865 trillion moderating year to date losses -4.17 percent.
Volume traded increased by 45.37% from 255.727 million to 371.760 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 68.21% from N1.669 billion to N2.807 billion in 3,627 deals.
Access, Fidelity bank, Guaranty, Zenith bank and Transcorp were the most active stocks by volume.
Livestock led the gainers chart by 9.68 percent to close at 68 kobo per share, Stanbic was next with a growth of 7.55 percent to close at N2.85 per share, Nascon added 4.90 percent to close at N7.71 per share, Learnafrica increases 4.88 percent to close at 86 kobo per share and Cileasing emerged the fifth highest price gainer on the chart with an appreciation of 4.84 percent to close at 65 kobo per share.
On the other hand, Unilever lost 9.72 percent, leading the decliners to close at N32.05 per share, Wapco shed 5.83 percent to close at N48.50, Continsure lost 4.92 percent to close at N1.16 per share, Afriprud was down 4.81 percent to close at 4.81 percent and Transexpr lost 4.60 percent to close 83 kobo per share.
