Epstein File: Mountbatten-Windsor Arrested On Suspicion of Office Misconduct
British royal, Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has been arrested by UK police on suspicion of misconduct in public office, marking a significant escalation in an investigation tied to his past association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Confirmed by the Thames Valley Police on Thursday, February 19, 2026, the arrest coincided with Mountbatten-Windsor’s 66th birthday. According to BBC, officers are conducting searches at several of his properties in Berkshire and Norfolk while he remains in custody. Under UK legal guidelines, authorities have not publicly named him, describing the suspect only as “a man in his sixties from Norfolk.”
“As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk,” police said.
“The man remains in police custody at this time.
“We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance. Please also remember that this case is now active so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court.” Police reiterated.
Earlier claims also include reports that Epstein arranged for a woman to travel to the UK for a sexual encounter with Mountbatten-Windsor, the allegations he has denied.
Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles and duties in 2022 amid mounting controversy, and was ordered to vacate his residence at Windsor by his brother, King Charles III.
The investigation is being treated with high priority given public interest, and police emphasise the need to protect the integrity of the case as it continues. Thames Valley’s assistant chief constable has reiterated commitment to a thorough and objective inquiry.
