Enyimba arrive Ibadan after salary row

The Aba side have resolved their dispute and have got to the venue of their Federation Cup semi final tie with the Solid Miners

Enyimba players and officials have finally arrived Ibadan on Thursday night from Aba ahead of their Federation Cup semi-final tie with Nasarawa United after the players got part of their outstanding debts.

The People’s Elephant’s players had vowed not to honour the tie billed for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan because of their unpaid match bonuses but after a frantic search for cash by the chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu the players have back-pedaled on their threat and have asserted that they are ready for the clash.

“We demanded what we have worked for since we do not have any other form of livelihood than this. We are grateful for the good heart of the Abia governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and the chairman of the club, Felix Anyansi Agwu.

“Our minds are focused on the match and despite the problems we had leading into it we won’t let ourselves down because we know what is at stake.”

The Aba side are seeking a place on the continent via the Federation Cup having finished ninth on the league table with 50 points from 36 matches.
