Envoy to pursue bilateral agreements between Germany, Nigeria

The designated Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar have been urged to use his position and wealth of experience to pursue important bilateral agreements between Germany and Nigeria especially in the area of education, technology and skills acquisition to help the Nigerian youths.

Senator Ali Wakili stated this yesterday at a dinner organized by the Tuggar’s Political associates and supporters to celebrate his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany.

“I urge you to use your position to pursue important bilateral agreements between Germany and Nigeria especially in the area of education, technology and skills acquisition to help the Nigerian youths”. The senator said.

Senator Wakili who was the Chairman of the occasion said that members of the national assembly from the state as well as all people of Bauchi State are highly delighted over the ambassadorial appointment of Yusuf Tuggar.

He reminded the appointee that he will face challenges as Europe particularly Germany grapples with the issues of migrants out of which Nigeria has a sizeable number of its citizens.

Tuggar was accompanied to Bauchi from Abuja‎ by Captain Bala Jibrin and other political associates to a rousing welcome by his supporters at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi.

Also speaking, an APC chieftain and close associate of Tuggar, Captain Bala Jibrin said that his appointment ‎ is timely, looking at his wealth of experience in politics and other endeavours over the years.

He assured that Tuggar will use his experience to enable Nigeria benefit from the economic strength of Germany as the country is the most economically advanced in Europe.

A former member of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Baba Suleman said appointments always come with prospects and challenges, but Tuggar as an experienced individual will utilise the opportunity given to him to project and protect the image of Nigeria.

In his remarks, Tuggar thanked the people who gathered to express their solidarity with him over his appointment and promised to work towards improving relations between Nigeria and Germany.

He said that as an ambassador, he will build on the‎ already existing and long standing relationship existing between the two nations.
