Emulate virtues of Jesus Christ, Oba of Benin charges Christians

Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, has admonished Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ in whatever they do.
Oba Ewuare II, who gave the admonition when he played host to the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Felix Meduoye, said Jesus Christ was humble and disliked financial aggrandisement which has become the hallmark of many Christian leaders in Nigeria today.
His Royal Majesty, who quoted copiously from the Bible, appealed to the General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church and indeed other Christian leaders to endeavour to do what they preach and live in a Christ-like manner by emulating the teachings and humility of Jesus Christ.
The Benin monarch said God is ever patient, unlike some Christian leaders of today who are in a hurry to make wealth at the expense of members of their congregation.
The Oba of Benin called on Rev. Meduoye and other Christian leaders to lead their congregation not only to seek the truth, but also to comply with what is right at all times.
Addressing the Benin monarch, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Felix Meduoye, told the Oba that they were in Benin City for a special crusade, hence they decided to come to the Palace to announce their presence in the Oba’s domain and seek for Royal blessings.
Rev. Meduoye said when people are in authority, they recognised them and pay homage to them, adding that Jesus Christ is the one that empowers anyone to serve in his vineyard.
The clergy traced the history of the church to 1923, while it started in Nigeria in 1955 and presently has over 19 million congregations spread over 143 nations in the world.
There was a special prayer offered for the successful reign of the Oba of Benin and for the unity, peace and progress of Benin Kingdom and the people.
