Emir tasks subjects on agric loan

The Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, on Thursday tasked his subjects on the need to follow due process in obtaining loan for agriculture.

Idris made this known during a Traditional Sallah Homage, locally known as Gaisuwan Fada, on the Emir at his palace in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The homage is an age-long tradition, where Zazzau Emirate council members, district heads and other subjects, pay homage on the emir two days after each Sallah.

Idris, represented by Sarkin Fulanin Zazzau, Alhaji Barau Aliyu-Damau, said the call became necessary in view of the importance of agriculture to human existence.

The emir stressed the need for farmers to organise themselves into cooperatives to benefit from series of agricultural loan facilities initiated by the federal government.
