Embattled Man Narrowly Escapes Kidnap As Plot Against His Life Thickens

Barely few months after prematurely truncating the political ambition of his elder brother by working against him in the ward primary leading to the emergence of a popular candidate as the flag-bearer of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming local government council election in Abia State, a man identified as Chibueze Oti has narrowly escaped being abducted by unknown gunmen several months after his elder brother publicly vowed to make his life a living hell.

Recall that on March 17, 2023 PDP ward primaries were held in Ikwuano local government Council Secretariate, Isiala Oboro in Abia State during which Elder Obinna.H.Peter, High Chief Chijindu E Oti and 19 other aspirants keenly contested to determine who emerges the ward councillor of the party in the local government council elections scheduled for May 19, 2023.

Of the 834 delegates who participated in the primary elections, Elder Obinna. H.Peter emerged the flagbearer of the party polling a total of 297 votes while Hon David Udochukwu came second with a total of 73 votes, abruptly signaling an end to the political ambition of his elder brother, High Chief Chijindu Oti, who came last with a total of 38 votes.

Meanwhile still reeling from several concerns from the obvious threats to his life after the unprovoked comments of threats by his elder brother on March 17, to erase him from the face of the earth, on August 2, 2023 while returning from work at exactly 8pm, he unsuspectingly drove into an ambush close to his residence where some murderous unknown gunmen secretly hid under the cover of darkness for their victim, it was confirmed.

Instantly sighting a strange parked car with a driver behind the wheels, Chibueze Oti was said to have hurriedly drove off but was suddenly double-crossed and hijacked from his car from nowhere by 3 heavily armed men who angrily bundled him into the waiting car in the dark, it was gathered.

Our correspondent however was reliably informed that as the unknown gunmen attempted to drive off with their kidnap victim held and captured at gunpoint in the middle of the night and within reach, he frantically made a desperate move suddenly and escaped through the back seat of the car conveying him to an undisclosed location.

Having lost sight of his abductors by hiding under the cover of the night to avoid his abductors from sighting him again for a second time around, he was said to have instantly walked into a nearby police station where he lodged complaints and the failed kidnap attempt on his life.

Meanwhile, as investigation into the case of the failed abduction and several cases of threats against his life and members of his immediate family commences in earnest, it remains to be seen if faceless individuals secretly behind the sinister plots to eliminate Chibueze Oti and the unknown gunmen would eventually be apprehended and prosecuted as the elder brother purportedly perceived to be at the centre of every sinister machinations against his younger brother walks around with impunity.
