Ekwunife Lauds Jonathan over Show of Sportsmanship

The Senator elect for Anambra Central Senatorial zone, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, has lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for his display of spirit of sportsmanship in the just concluded presidential election in country.

Ekwunife also expressed gratitude to the electorate from Anambra Central senatorial District for electing her to represent them in the Senate in the next four years.

According to a statement signed by the media Assistant to the Senator elect, Emmanuel Uzor, she observed that President Jonathan has rising above self, considered the country by accepting the outcome of the results and congratulating his closest rival, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“I want to commend Mr. President for the sacrifice he made for Nigeria, keeping his words. He deserves to be commended for rising above self and considering the country first. Nigerians have come the realization that what Mr. President has been saying that his ambition doesn’t worth blood of any Nigerians has been true and we have to hold him in a very high esteem for this uncommon show of sportsmanship and this goes a long way to show the type of person he is and history will judge him right”

The senator elect further described President Jonathan as the author of Nigerian democracy, adding “President Goodluck Jonathan domesticated democracy in Nigeria and should be commended for conducting a free, fair and credible general election in the history of Nigeria democracy”

She however called on the President elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari to be magnanimous in victory by seeing all parts of the country as his primary constituency and to consolidate of the already achieved gains of the outgoing administration.

she further described the victory at the senatorial poll as the manifestation of general wish of the people that have been yearning for quality representation especially in the National Assembly.

“it is surprising that my opponent, Chief Victor Umeh after losing election which i won on free and fair grounds is still opening his mouth to talk. if the election is Anambra Central Zone is conducted a million times, i will beat him because the people chose me above every other contestants in the election. i advise him to toe the line of Mr. President who conceded to defeat, he (Victor Umeh) should concede to defeat”
