Ekweremadu leads others to commission Dankwambo’s roads in Gombe

The Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu is about now leading many other important dignitaries to commission many township roads constructed by Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo in Gombe township.

Dankwambo is currently rated as the best governor in the entire northern Nigeria mainly because of his outstanding performance in the area of road construction which has seen to the linking of rural communities with the state capital and other town in and outside the state.

The governor has so far constructed over 3,500km roads as well as hundreds of bridges across the nooks and corners of the state with Gombe metropolis now transformed into a modern city.

Apart from being rated as the best performing governor in northern Nigeria, Dankwambo who is also the Talban Gombe is seen by many as an inspiration to young people because of the exemplary attributes he has shown in a country where quality leadership has been scare.

Dankwambo has built a reputation as a prudent manger of scarce resources and meticulous administrator who has recorded the highest level of achievements since the creation of Gombe State.

Among the areas he has been scored number one include security, education, health, agriculture and food availability as well as poverty alleviation.

The creation of a unique version of the almajiris educational formula known as Tsangaya Primary School system by his administration has also earned him commendations and awards from local and international agencies while Gombe under Dankwambo has been rated one of the most peaceful states in recent years.

Many Nigerians believe that Dankwambo’s achievements are not surprising because of his various educational attainments as well as other experiences acquired from trainings and work experience within and outside the country which have combined to equip him with the capacity to lead in whatever field.

An accomplished accountant, banker, financial administrator and politician, Dankwambo holds a degree in accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a Master Degree in Economics from University of Lagos, Dankwambo went for a Doctorate in accounting from Igbinedion University.

He has trained at some of the most prestigious financial and leadership institutions in the world among which are Harvard University on Global Financial Systems (Crisis, Prospects and Solutions); Duke University DCID, Durbam on Budgeting and Finance Management programmes.

He was with Coopers and Lybrand for a few years before joining the Central Bank of Nigeria from 1988 to 1999 when he was appointed Accountant General of Gombe State and later Accountant General of the Federation. Dankwambo contested and won election to become governor of Gombe State in 2011 and was sworn in 29th May, 2011.
