Ekiti’s year of possibilities – Ojudu

Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters and gubernatorial aspirant, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has urged all Ekiti indigenes and residents to look beyond the mis- governance of the immediate past and look forward to opportunities of a new rebirth, which the year 2018 offers.
Ojudu in a New Year message released in Ado Ekiti, the State capital said, “No doubt, 2017 was a rough year for our people in Ekiti, no thanks to a subjugator state government’s leadership, one who regales in profanities and laced himself with scents of graft rather than the serious business of governance and development .
“Indeed, our state suffered in terms of human capital development, we have a government that lacks ideas and direction; all that is amplified on a daily basis is crass exploitation of poverty and people’s need for obscene political propaganda.
The Special Adviser expressed his fervent belief that, “this New Year, God will answer the prayers of our people and rescue Ekiti. God will deliver Ekiti, for it is written: “Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life. Ekiti will witness a New Rebirth.’’
Ojudu praised the resilience of Ekiti people in the face of hardships and wanton abuses.
“I want to state that this year, we will send away extortionists and the locusts, we will unleash the potentials of Ekiti, we will grow wealth for our people and not for the pockets of a few.
We will make government serve the people and not turn citizens to beggars at the mercy of droppings from unconscionable public officials.
The governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while making veiled reference to the forthcoming governorship election in the state, stressed that “2018 is a crucial year in the history of our state and we must be vigilant.
We must mobilise our people home and abroad not to be bogged by despondency. We must link our hands to chart a new path for present and future generations of Ekiti people.
“This is the year the power of the people to determine who truly governs them must prevail so that we can put an end to the dynasty of wolves masquerading in chickens clothing.”
