The deputy governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye, commended the security agencies for devising a strong synergy for taking care of criminals in the state.
She also commended them for dowsing tensions over surging insecurity cases in the neighbouring states.
Afuye gave the commendation, while decorating his Convoy Commander, ASP Kayode Ajayi, with the new rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police
She said in a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, and saluted ASP Ajayi and other security personnel in her office for their dedication to duties and sense of commitment to nationhood through their honest services.
Afuye branded the new elevation as a product of hard work and exemplary ethical conduct by the officer, saying such motivation is required to propel the spirit of security personnel to offer their best to their fatherland in terms of security of lives and property.
Specifically commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a good and comfortable working condition for security agencies to discharge their duties, rather than working at cross purposes.
She revealed that the incentives being provided by the Governor was responsible for why Ekiti was adjudged and rated as the most peaceful state in the country and investment- friendly destination.
According to her “Let me congratulate ASP Kayode Ajayi on the new promotion. Since you resumed to this office over three years ago, I have watched with keen interest how you discharged your duties diligently and with honesty. I am proud of you.
“This promotion should be seen as a motivation for you to offer more services. This is not the time for you to relent. You have to prove to the federal government that you really merit the promotion and this will go with some responsibilities that befits your new rank”.
The partnership between Ekiti government “and all the security agencies is strong, because Governor Biodun Oyebanji knows the value of security to the lives and property of our people.
“The increase in the level of investment in Ekiti was as a result of the Governor’s patriotic dedication to duties. No State can witness high investment index when people are being harassed, kidnapped and killed.
“We appreciate all the security agencies for their synergy and cooperation with Governor Oyebanji-led administration to making sure that our state is safe and secured for us to live in and for investments”.
