Ekiti House of Assembly on Thursday expressed sadness over the death of Mr Micheal Ayodele, a member of the 3rd Assembly, who died on June 23, during a brief illness.
The Assembly in a condolence message by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mrs Yemisi Ayokunle, described Ayodele’s death as a shock.
Ayokunle said death took the former lawmaker at a time his political experience was needed by his party and the state.
She described the deceased, popularly known as “Salindo”, as a gentleman, a committed democrat, who devoted his life to the development of his people and Ekiti.

Ayokunle, on behalf of the entire lawmakers, sympathised with Ayodele’s immediate family, Oye-Ekiti community and the entire people of Ekiti over the loss.
She prayed that the Almighty God would grant his soul eternal rest.
Micheal Ayodele represented Oye Constituency 1 at the State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011.
The 54 year-old former lawmaker also served as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry during the last administration of Gov. Ayo Fayose.
