Egwu warns South East PDP executives to steer clear or face litigation
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Acting National Vice Chairman, South East zone, Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu has warned individuals parading themselves as PDP executives in the South East zone to steer clear, or be prepared to face litigation in the days ahead.
Hon. Egwu called on all PDP faithful across the various Wards and Local Governments in Ebonyi State and the entire South East to remain resolute and steadfast in their support for the Party.
He assured them that a total transformation is coming, and urged them not to allow the likes of Ali Odefa and his co-travellers to deceive or derail them.
The Acting National Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), South East Zone, Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, further commended the judiciary for upholding the rule of law, following the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, which declared the last purported PDP national convention null and void.
He noted that the said convention was clearly conducted in violation of the PDP Constitution and the laws of the land, making the court’s decision both just and inevitable.
Disclosing this in a statement, Hon. Egwu also expressed deep appreciation to the national leader of the party and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, and the acting National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, for standing firm with the PDP and refusing to distance themselves from the party at a critical time like this.
According to him, the judgment has put to rest all controversies surrounding the party’s leadership, stressing that those led by Turaki should “hide their faces in shame,” as the court has spoken clearly.
He reaffirmed that the authentic and legally recognised National Acting Chairman of the PDP is Mohammed Abdulrahman, and that remains the position of the law.
Speaking further, Hon. Egwu stated emphatically that the South East is PDP, and PDP is the South East.
He reminded the public that over 99.9 percent of today’s politicians in the South East emerged under the PDP umbrella, a fact that cannot be wished away.
He assured party faithful that, in no distant time, the party would hit the ground running once again in the zone.
He described Ali Odefa as someone merely gallivanting and deceiving the gullible, stressing that by the PDP Constitution and guiding laws of the party, Ali Odefa is no longer a PDP member.
“Consequently, anything he does or participates in under the name of PDP, especially in the South East, is null and void.”
He said the clarification was necessary in order to put the public on notice so that no one would be misled.
Hon. Egwu further said that Ali Odefa is being sponsored to disrupt the peace of the PDP South East, adding that the party would not tolerate such actions.
He announced that the PDP would soon conduct fresh Ward, Local Government, State, and Zonal Congresses in the South East, culminating in a proper national convention strictly backed by the PDP Constitution and the laws of the land.
