Edo Traditional Ruler Decries Absence Of Water, Road In Domain

His Royal Highness(HRH) Oluogbe 11, Elawure of Usen, Ovia South West Local Government Area, Edo State yesterday expressed grave concern over the age-long gross absence of socio-amenities in his kingdom.

Elawure who spoke with newsmen in his palace ahead of his 10th year coronation anniversary slated for 29th January to February 1st 2007 identified potable water, roads as major challenges confronting the rural dwellers and the students of the Usen Polytechnic.

The traditional ruler who ascended the throne as the 33rd Elawure of Usen in 2007 said the coronation would also provide apple opportunity for the kingdom to correct lingering controversial misconception about the peaceful and loving people who were for years misconstrued to have frightening and medicinal powers through cultural display and heritage.

Chairman, Planning Committee for the 10th coronation ceremony, Honourable, Harrison Omagbon while reeling out the programme of event said the coronation which will also mark the formal foundation laying ceremony of the new palace will culminate with the confer-mention of award to deserving indigens by His Royal Highness.

According to him , Oba Ewuare II , the Oba of Benin, Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye , Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion amongst others are expected to grace the occasion.
