Edo Assembly Takeover: PDP attacks APC
The ongoing political drama surrounding the impeachment of the Deputy speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Yekini Idiaye, has taken another twist as the People’s Democratic Party have called out the All Progressives’ Congress for petulantly deploying security officers in what is turning to be a feisty crack-down at the State House of Assembly Complex, Benin City.

The opposition party shrieked their condemnation as they took to their official Twitter handle, posting graphic images of the security agents laying siege to the State House of Assembly Complex
“Breaking News! Irked by the growing popularity of @GovernorObaseki of Edo state & overwhelming acceptance by his people, the @OfficialAPCNg led FG has mobilized @PoliceNg & other security agents to take over the state house of assembly. This is totally unacceptable” the opposition party tweeted.
The impeachment of Hon Idiaye was reported to be a result of the plenary session of the State House of Assembly during Wednesday’s session. With Hon Idiaye declaring himself an avowed loyalist to the APC candidate in the upcoming Edo State Gubernatorial election, Pastor Ize Iyamo, it appears the APC will not accept this impeachment lying on its back.
