Edo Assembly investigates Dep Speaker for divulging official secrets

The Edo House of Assembly on Monday constituted a five-man adhoc committee to investigate allegations of breach of legislative powers and divulging of official secrets levelled against the deputy speaker, Victor Edoror.
The Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto who constituted the committee during plenary in Benin said the deputy speaker was accused of divulging official secret to the public.
Adjoto explained that the allegations were weighty and capable of bringing the house to disrepute
He thereafter listed the members of the committee to include Mr Nosayaba Okunbor, member representing (APC Orhionmwon East) who would serve as the chairman.
Others are: Mr Victor Asein, member representing (APC Owan West), Mr Osaigbovo Iyoha, member representing (APC orhionmwon Oredo East), Mr Festus Edughele, member representing (APC Esan South-East) and Mr Patrick Iruobe, member representing (PDP Esan North East 1).
According to the Speaker, the committee has up to Wednesday, June 27 to submit its report.
