Easter: Embrace righteousness, Oyo ALGON urges Christians
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State chapter, called on Christians in the country to embrace righteousness.
The Chairman of the association, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, made the call in his Easter message issued on Sunday in Ibadan.

According to him, Easter can only be beneficial when people embrace true repentance and uphold righteousness.
“We should remember what this season represents. We are all sinners, and with the realization that our sins have been taken away, let us give our lives totally to God and obey His teachings and commandments.
“There will only be a wonderful Easter celebration when you give your life to God. With the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have all been lifted to the glory of God,” he said.
Abass-Aleshinloye described this year’s Easter celebration as an opportunity for Christians to seek the face of God in prayers to heal Nigeria and the world of the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic.
The ALGON boss further stressed that the period was also a time for people to show love to one another, especially against the backdrop of the hardship occasioned by COVID-19.
He implored the people of the state to adhere strictly to the directives of government and other relevant agencies in order to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

“Let us remain peaceful, show love, tolerate one another and make sacrifice, especially during this period of COVID-19 global pandemic.
“It’s only through this that we can uphold and advance the legacy of Jesus Christ in our state and the country at large,” he said.
