DTSG Breaks 34-Year Record with Fastest Exam Results

The Delta State Government has released the 2025 cognitive/placement examination results as it set a new record beating the standards that has been held since its inception 34years ago.

The Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, made this known in a statement in Asaba at the weekend

According to the Commissioner, “A total of 118,705 candidates sat for the examination. 72,022 (62%) made distinction, 30,844(25%) got merit, 7,239(6%) passed, while 6,630 failed and 1,970 (2%) candidates were absent in the examination.”

Dr. Ashibogwu congratulated candidates who scaled through in the examination, and encouraged those who failed to work harder and pay more attention to their studies.

He acknowledged the major role of the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who made the needed funds available and also provided the conducive environment from the registration process to the release of the results.

The Commissioner used the medium to thank the then, Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr Daniel Akiri and the Director of Examinations and Standards in the Ministry, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah, and other stakeholders for their tireless efforts towards the successful conduct of the examination in the State and subsequent release of results.

“I am pleased to announce to Deltans and residents that our Cognitive/Placement Examination results are out now for check.

“It will interest you to know that we recorded over 93% pass rate in this year’s examination out of which 62 percent of the candidates got distinction
“Also, this is the first time in the history of our dear State where registration of candidates were done online and results also published online for candidates to check.

Since the inception of this examination 34 years ago, results have not been released while schools were in session.

“This feat was achieved through the efforts of many stakeholders, especially our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who approved the required funds.

“I also wish to thank the then Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr. Daniel Akiri and other Directors in the Ministry whose effoArts brought about the needed change this year,” the Commissioner stated.
