Violence mars Bayelsa APC event

Hoodlums believed to be loyal to the immediate past chairman of the party, Tiwei Orunimigha, stormed the venue of the inauguration of the acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa state, Joseph Fafi, shooting sporadically to disperse the crowd. One person was killed.

Orunimigha, the immediate past chairman, was expelled for alleged anti-party activities alongside his vice-chairman and secretary on July 25, 2017.

The supporters had trooped out in solidarity with the new leadership of the party which they said would bring an end to the infighting in the state chapter of the APC.
