If DSS Had Invited Judges, It Would Have Lost All Evidence To Prosecute Them– Ex Ambassador

A former Ambassador of Nigeria to Ukraine, Amb. Ibrahim Kassai had said that the Defense Security Service (DSS), did the right thing by invading the homes of Judges at the dead of the night to pick them up for interrogation on the grounds of corruption.
Amb. Kassai, who is also a lawyer, holds the view that the said judges would have hid all the monies that was found in their positions if they were privy to the fact that the DSS, was after them.
He is also quoted as saying, some Nigerians are questioning the constitutional right of the DSS, to have done what they did, saying that due process was not followed, “but can anyone tell us what is due process?”.
“If the legislature (Senate President and his Deputy), were arraigned before the court, why can’t the Judges be arraigned, or is anyone above the law?”.
“The court is the last hope of the common man, so if it is not certified free of corruption, then the entire society is lost”, he said.
While answering question from our correspondent on other issues as relates to politics, the elder statesman who was a former member of the People Democratic Party (PDP), before defecting to the All Progressive Congress (APC), after the 2015 general election, said he left the PDP because the party lacks internal democracy and was not ready for a reform.
On the defection of Sen. Joshua Dariye, Kassai said it is a boost for the APC in the state, stating that the defection of Dariye is an indication that the PDP will never win election in Plateau.
“Dariye as a former governor, whether you like it or not, he has people on ground and his defection will also break the speculations in the camp of the PDP that they will recapture power in 2019.
