DPR licensed 600 filling stations in Niger

The Department of Petroleum Resources DPR, has licensed about 600 filling stations in Niger state in the last two years of its establishment in the state, Controller of the department, Engineer Abdullahi Isah Jankara has revealed.

Jankare made this disclosure when the Executives of Correspondents chapel of NUJ paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Minna, saying that it inheritage a lot of illegal fuel stations hence the need to ensure sanity.

He explained that some of the peculiar challenges ascertained during the establishment of the Department on 1st November, 2015 have been overcome through enlightenment and educating of the stakeholders especially the marketers.

He however applauded the contributions of the media especially during the scarcity of the product at the pick of its establishment assured to do his best as the head of the regulatory body of oil and gas in the state.

Engr Jankara who insisted not to be intimidated by the marketers maintained that the right thing must be done to ensure sanity and smooth running of the business in the state.

He added that product scarcity was a distraction of the department noted that its now carrying out it real mandate as a regulator of oil and gas business in Nigeria.

The pioneer controller further hinted that marketers now registered for their licenses online now within three months which has ease the whole processes just like the aim of establishing the office in Minna.

He advised the new leadership of the chapel and journalism professionals to be mindful of the consequences of their reportage in the society and be guided by their conscience as well not to be detered by the critics as their present status will propelled them for future responsibility.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr Aideloje Ojo appreciated the tremendous contributions of the department hence the personal contributions of the controller in educational, philanthropical, social and developmental efforts in some communities in the state hence to partner in its activities.
