I Don’t Know Where Nnamdi Kanu Is – Abaribe

This question has been on virtually every lip in Nigeria for the past few weeks.

Last week, the federal government, Nigerian army and Nnamdi Kanu’s sureties started trading blames and pointing accusing fingers about the whereabouts of the secessionist group leader.

One of those the federal government fingered is Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe who stood as surety for Kanu before he was granted bail.

On Monday, the federal government categorically stated that Abaribe is hiding Nnamdi Kanu in his house.

But the senator, who is representing Abia South Senatorial District, has denied the claim.

Abaribe in a response to a question on whether Kanu was actually in his custody, said in a text message, “I don’t know where he is.”

The Federal Government, however, stated in a counter-affidavit that Abaribe was aware that Kanu “has long violated the bail conditions handed down by this honourable court” on April 24, 2017 before September 11 when he claimed to have lost contact with the defendant.

“I don’t know where he is. But that is a question that will be resolved by the suit we have instituted,” Abaribe insisted.
