Don't Bring Weapons into Polling Booths – Mbu

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Mr Mbu Joseph Mbu, has warned the electorate under his area of coverage not to come to the polling booths with weapons of any kind.

Mbu said this during a meeting with police commissioners of Ogun and Lagos states at his Onikan, Lagos Island office. The police boss also urged voters to shun violence before, during and after the election. Mbu declared that law enforcement agents would deal decisively with anyone found fomenting trouble.

He warned citizen not to carry weapons on election days. According to him: “We are very unfortunate here; we have about eight squadron of the combat army of Nigeria police; we have police mobile force sufficient, counter terrorist sufficient, special provincial unit sufficient. So, we have enough men to be deployed.”
