Is Dimeji Bankole on bad weather?

How time flies. At a time Sabur Dimeji Bankole was one of Nigeria’s most powerful politicians as the youthful speaker of House of Representatives.
British-educated Bankole, as Nigeria’s number four citizen, wielded enormous political and financial influence.
But all that began to wane towards the tail end of his tenure as speaker as he was caught in the web of some unpleasant controversies culminating in his arrest by the anti-graft police economic and financial crime commission (EFCC) during a four hour standoff at his home in Abuja over allegations that he misappropriated tins of millions of government funds: charges that he denied later and quashed by the court.
As the battle raged, Bankole lost the ticket to return to the house and was also on a war part with his then state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel for some time.
He suddenly went missing on the political and social radar. Six years down on the line, things seem not to be looking up for this hitherto shimmering golden boy as if he has exhausted his political capital. The question is has Bankole gone broke?
