Deputy gov urges youths to explore opportunities in ICT

The Kwara state Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, has called on the Nigerian youth to explore boundless opportunities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to empower themselves and become self-reliant.
The deputy governor made the call at the weekend at the 2019 Ilorin digital summit held at the State Banquet Hall, Ilorin.
Alabi, who emphasised that the future lied on the ICT and digital economy, urged the youth to build their skills on ICT, irrespective of their callings.
He said that government is determined to encourage and support the youths to positively channel their energies to productive ventures, with a view to contributing to the economic growth of the state and the nation at large.

The deputy governor said that the present administration believes in the potentials that abound in the youth and implored them to be innovative, creative and ready to assist others in realising their potentials.
“You do not need an office. Get a browsing phone and market whatever you are doing online. The future belongs to those who can explore opportunities in the ICT to succeed,” Alabi said.
He assured the participants that government would not relent in fulfilling its obligations to support entrepreneurs and other investors to succeed.
