Delta carries out safe burial of COVID-19 patient

Officials of the Delta state government have successfully carried out the burial of the state’s fifth COVID-19 patient who died at the Asaba Specialist Hospital treatment center.

The deceased was the second positive case managed at the Asaba Specialist Hospital treatment center and died on the May 16.

The safe burial was conducted by the Infection, Prevention and Control Pillar of the Delta state Emergency Operation Committee for COVID19 at the burial ground for persons of Hausa origin in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.

He was a 20 -year-old male who hailed from the northern part of the country and lived in Agbor till his death in Asaba.

He had before his death been suffering from blood cancer and anaemic heart failure that took him to hospital frequently for treatment, including blood transfusions which made him fall under the category of vulnerable persons because he had pre-existing illnesses.
