Defacing of Nwoye’s billboards, posters: We’ll not retaliate – Campaign Organisation

Nwoye

Tony Nwoye Campaign Organisation and leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State have expressed sadness over what they described as the wanton destruction of its candidate’s billboards and posters across the state, even as the organisation urged it supporters not to retaliate.

The campaign organisation made this known to newsmen through the flag-off Campaign Committee Chairman, Sir Azuka Okwuosa, at the party’s Secretariat, Awka recently.

“Our candidate, Tony Nwoye is a lover of peace. We know what to do. We will not be distracted. We are 100% focused,” he said.

Okwuosa said the party had fixed early next last week for a full scale local government campaign, noting that the party officially flagged off the campaign last Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Okwuosa stated that they would not leave any stone unturned in their task to ensure that Hon. Tony Nwoye emerged as the next governor of Anambra State, noting that it was about time the electorate allowed a youth to steer the ship of the state to the path of greatness.

“The chairman, who described his candidate (Nwoye) as a notable candidate, said that he had proved himself in many leadership positions he had occupied in the past and should be given the chance to lead.

“I thank you all for identifying with us during the flag-off held at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha. You will agree with me that Tony Nwoye’s campaign flag-off is the mother of all Flag-Offs. It was unprecedented.

“You witnessed the mammoth crowd that thronged the venue. You saw what happened. Did you notice that immediately after the flag-Off, Nwoye’s opponents became jittery and apprehensive? They never expected that turnout.

“Out of fear, they started fabricating lies against the distinguished Nigerians that graced the event. They cooked up all manner of falsehood just to discredit the widely celebrated event. I do not want to talk about the issue of APC convoy knocking down someone at New Parts, Nkpor.

“I know you must have seen the police’s position on that. We have no hand in it. It was just the handiwork of mischief makers. Police issued an authentic statement exonerating APC from what transpired. This is just to tell you how far people can go. We will embark on door to door campaign,” Okwuosa concluded.

In their separate speeches, the Director General Tony Nwoye’s Campaign Organisation, Chief Ossy Ezenwa, and the Campaign Organisation Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Charles Amilo, expressed the hope that their candidate would emerge victorious come November 18 governorship election in Anambra State despite the daunting challenges.

Ezenwa said that their candidate symbolised participatory democracy and was more than qualified to govern the state.
