Senate President, Senator David Mark has today Tuesday swore-in Senator David Umaru who will now be representing the Niger East Senatorial District.
Senator Umaru’s swearing-in is coming folowing the Appeal Court’s judgment that dismissed the former occupant of the seat, Senator Shem Nuhu Zagbayi who came in as a result of a bye-election after the death of Senator Dahiru Kutama.
Senator Umaru is supposed to have less than two months to stay in the 7th senate but fortunately won the March 28 senatorial elections on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, for Niger East defeating the incumbent governor Muazu Babangida who contested on the party ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
