Daniel leads Atiku support groups to Gani Adams, seeks support for ex-VP

The former Governor of Ogun State and Director General of Atiku Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Sunday, led over 20 members of the Atiku campaign groups to the residence of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, Iba Gani Abiodun Adams, on a courtesy visit.
Daniel in his speech said his visit was for two different reasons, to pay a courtesy visit the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, since he has not visited him to felicitate with him on his elevation since being installed as the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land,
whereas, Aare visited him in his Shagamu home shortly after he was proclaimed as the new Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land by His Imperial Majesty Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Olayiwola, the Alaafin of Oyo.
Secondly, as the Director General of Atiku Campaign Organisation, he was there to seek support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2019 election, because, according to him, the position of the Aare Onakakanfo in Yoruba history is a very big position in terms of everything.
Also speaking, one of the members of his entourage, Akogun Tunde Odanye stated that it was high time the Yoruba spoke with one voice for the Yoruba Land to be the best zone in Nigeria.
Responding, Aare Gani Adams, who thanked Otunba Daniel for deeming it fit to visit him, described Daniel as one of the prominent sons of Yoruba race that has the interest of Yoruba Land at heart.
He added that, “As the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, I must not be partisan, every son and daughter of Yoruba Land has every right to visit me.”
While adding however that only a presidential candidate that has passion and belief in the restructuring of Nigeria will be supported by himself and his groups, Aare Adams urged other political parties to key into the campaign of the restructuring of Nigeria.
He stated further that the only solution to the present problems of Nigeria was the restructuring of the country, insisting that “Nigeria should be restructured along six geo political zones based on federating units.
This is how it was written in the 1963 constitution, this will give room for the economy and developmental rivalries among the six geo-political zones based on federating units. Any political party that believes in this we have our support”.
Some members of Otunba Daniel’s entourage include Araba Tola Adeniyi, Akogun Tunde Odanye, Chief Kole Omololu, Hon Hakeem Gbajabiamila, Mr. Seyi Wellington, Prof. Kila of the University of Cambridge, Hon Onamisi, and Prince Deji Kalejaye among others.
