Dangote Refinery: No shutdown or suspension of truck loading
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it has not shut down operations or suspended truck loading at its facility.
In a statement on Friday, Anthony Chiejina, group chief branding and communications officer of Dangote Group, said ongoing maintenance at the refinery is a routine process that does not affect fuel supply.
“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is fully operational. There has been no shutdown, nor has there been any suspension of truck loading activities.
“As the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery, the facility employs advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations. Routine maintenance activities are standard and do not impact the overall fuel supply,” the statement reads.
The company dismissed speculation about potential supply shortages or price hikes, saying it can meet daily orders of up to 40 million litres of petrol and 15 million litres of diesel for the next 90 days.
“To those who believe this misinformation and anticipate a bullish market, we extend a challenge: We invite interested buyers to place immediate orders for up to 40 million litres of PMS daily and 15 million litres of AGO daily, for the next 90 days,” the statement said.
Abubakar Garima, national president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), also told reporters that petrol loading has resumed at the refinery after a one-week break.
He said the facility has started selling petrol to partners, with the ex-gantry price now at N850 per litre.
The refinery reiterated its commitment to transparency and Nigeria’s energy security, urging the public to ignore rumours aimed at undermining the country’s energy independence.
It also warned against purchasing imported substandard fuels under the guise of local supply shortages.
