Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has singed into law the Order restricting movement of people in local governments under lockdown, to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Director General on Media, Mr Abdu Labaran, and made available to newsmen on Monday in Katsina.
It said that the Persons Movement (Restriction) Order 2020, was in line with the Public Health Law Cap 110 Laws of Katsina State 1991.
“Any person who violates the provision order commits an offence punishable under section 114 of the Penal Code,” it said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state government had locked down Katsina, Daura Dutsinma, Safana, Batagarawa, Jibia and Mani local government areas.

The state has recorded 30 positive cases of Covid-19 with one death in the seven local government areas.
