Covid-19, Lockdowns And The Need To Salvage Mankind

This Corona Virus era and all it has come with – the lockdowns and all others, have thrown up the worse challenges to mankind. The worse of these challenges is that of health and hunger. A lot of families are today facing health challenges amidst the lockdowns which has drastically affected health supplies. The level of hunger has also affected many families leading to untimely deaths.
Despite all these, some people and institutions have continued to do their best to ensure that these challenges does not continue to decimate the very population we are trying to protect via the lockdown. One organisation whose activities have come to limelight in the country and for which many Nigerians have commended is the Omega Power Ministries OPM. This fledging ministry with strong roots in Port Harcourt is astonishing mankind with the level of philanthropy it has exuded since this virus became an issue of public concern.
I have severally written on the noble efforts of the OPM foundation but this write-up is not intended to inform on the activities of the foundation (which can be seen in their website or through Google) but rather to call on good spirited members of the human community to key into what OPM is doing so as to ensure that such good works continue to the glory of God Almighty.
For the purpose of information, my major concern now is the sustainance of the good works that is going on at the OPM FREE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL. This is a facility that has been acclaimed to be one of the best Specialist Hospitals in the country with very qualified medical personnel that has registered hundreds of live childbirths since it came into existence a year ago.
Currently, under this era of Corona Virus and the attendant lockdown, the hospital has recorded 19 live births just from the 1st of May to the 9th of May. Among this figure is 7 caeserian operations and the delivery of a set of twins. For the record, each caeserian operation costs nothing less than two hundred thousand naira in an average Nigerian hospital but this hospital has carried out all these free of charge not minding if those involved are members of the church or not or weather they are Christians or Muslims.
Just recently, a pastor and his wife who hibernated their two kids for 18 good years without their coming out of the house died as a result of a 21 days fasting they embarked on. The founder of OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere was invited as usual, to begin the parenting of these kids which he has graciously accepted. To the glory of God today, she and the sister have been living with Apostle Chinyere They are already on his scholarship programme and she has also gotten his scholarship to study in Turkey. I also believe maybe God seen they are in bandage and needs to be delivered. If the parents were still alive, I dont think they could have benefited what they are currently benefiting. For example: It is the first time they are seeing television, it is the first time of eating eggs, corn flex , golden mon, swimming pool, the first in there life of entering classroom, They have never owned wrist watch etc. I believe God delivered them, so they can have a better opportunity of becoming great. They now owned phone, laptop and ipad, and lastly, the first time to sleep in Airconditioned house. This is not an isolated case because he has been involved in other assistances which has been supported by the offerings and tithes of members of the church as well as donations from other well meaning members of the humane community.
My concern which is the motivation for this article is that the lockdown is affecting churches and as it affects the finances of the churches, such philanthropic efforts may be affected hence the need for Nigerians not minding the churches they attend or the religion they practice to key into what is going on in OPM ministries.
I am not a member of the church but I think it is important for mankind to be of help especially to organisations that are impacting on the lives of humanity the way Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere and the OPM is doing.
