Court remands three suspects for alleged killing of South Africa returnee

Three suspects who attempted to dupe a South Africa returnee, Ibidun Olugbodu, have been ordered to be remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate Court.

The suspects are Tomori Lekan, Adebayo Taoheed and Lawal Saheed for alleged felony.

The Prosecutor, Mr Mereti Wilson had told the court that the trio committed the offence on the 17th of December, 2016 at Sadiat area along Ilesa road, Osogbo.

He said the accused conspired to commit the crime when they conspired and killed a South Africa returnee, Ibidun Olugbodu with a gun.

Wilson added that the suspects and other who is currently at large killed Olubodun inside his newly bought car two weeks to his wedding.

Prosecutor said that the accused had committed an offense contrary to and punishable Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State 2002.

The plea of the accused was not taken

Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Falilat Sodamade ordered that the three accused persons be remanded in custody at Ilesa prison.

Sodamade however directed the police in charge of the case to duplicate the case file and forward it to the office of Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), for legal advice.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case till April 10, 2017 for mention.
