An Out-Jeremi High Court in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, has dismissed a ten-year old suit before it instituted by Elder Joe A.O. Amurun, challenging the installation of HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, as the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom.
The court in considering the pleadings, evidence and addresses of the parties in the Suit No. EHC/69/2008 brought stated that exhibit K, which the claimant was relying on as an order of court did not bind Ovie of Uvwie kingdom as 1st defendant, and the other defendants who were not parties to the said suit in exhibit k, and that an order made in a suit cannot bind persons who were not parties to the said suit.
In the judgment, it was stated that the claimant Elder, Joe Amurun cannot benefit or take advantage of whatever order made in the suit, adding that Elder Amurun failed to prove his case, and that he did not give cogent or compelling reasons why the court should multiply the installations of HRM Emmanunel sideso Abe 1 as the Ovie of Uvuwie kingdom.
The Court therefore dismissed the case against Amurun one Thursday with a cost of N200, 000 in favour of the Uvwie monarch.
In another development, residents of Ibusa community near Asaba were on Friday shocked to behold the sight of two middle aged man who were paraded naked for allegedly stealing live goat and motor bikes.
The suspects (names withheld) upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, saying that they were hungry hence they went into stealing the goat.
It was gathered that the thieves said they have running the motorcycle stealing business for a long time before luck ran out of them, as they were later handed over to the police for further investigation.
