Cooperate with Buhari to come out of recession –Nyame tells Nigerians
Former governor of Taraba state, Rev. Jolly Nyame, has called on Nigerians to cooperate with President Muhammadu Buhari administration, to enable them come out of the present downturn biting harder on the economy of the Nation.
Nyame, who dropped this hint on Christmas day on Sunday while answering questions from newsmen shortly after marking his 61st birthday at Zing, headquarters of Zing local government area of the state, adding that recession is a global issue.
“When you talk about recession, it is a global thing. America has been in recession, other big countries in the world have been in recession and now that Nigeria is in recession, it should not be taken as something very peculiar”
“Nigerians should come together and see how best they can cooperate with President Muhammadu Buhari to get out of the recession”, he said.
He however, admitted that the economic slump affected his 2016 birthday celebration compared with that of last year, pointing out that the class of people he expected to be in attendance were not present at the occasion.
On 2019 general election, Rev Nyame confessed that he is not contesting for any position but said that the people of the state are always prepared to go for candidates of their choice, people that will bring democracy dividends to their doorsteps.
While talking on his birthday that concurred with Christmas, Jolly Nyame said, people that were born on the same day with Christ are people of proven integrity. He asked the people of the state to emulate Christ who preached peace and love to mankind.
Jolly Nyame who condemned the recent killings in Dan Anacha town of Gassol local government area of the state, describing it as madness. “People should desist from carrying arms against one another, Tarabans are one,” he said.
