The All Progressive Congress (APC) in the South East has called on states in other zones to concede the 2023 Presidency to the zone for the sake of prosperity of the country and humanity.

This call came in Umuahia at the weekend as the party in Abia was accepting All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) decampees into its fold, adding “2023 will be our year of destiny fulfilment”.

The party in the zone spoke through various zonal leaders including the Zonal Vice Chairman (South East), Hon. Emma Enukwu, Secretary General, South East chairmen and Chairman, APC Enugu, Barr. Ben Nwoye and Chairman, Ebonyi State, Rev. Nwachukwu, stating “our collective decision in the South East is that other states should concede their interest for the South East for the sake of prosperity of the country and humanity”.

According to Enukwu, “We have decided that APC will get Igbo Presidency. We will talk when we are there”.

Addressing the decampees later, the Zonal Vice Chairman, South East described Abia as the worst state in the South East, hence the time to take over the state.

According to him, APC in Abia is faced with temptations, “including the incarceration of our leader, Sen. Orji Kalu. We should encourage him. He has the brain.

It is in our hands to possess our possession”. Now, we should stoop low to conquer, but need the people”.

Also speaking, the Abia State APC chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa said “Abia is going through a lot of turbulence, but instead of getting weaker, we are getting stronger” and assured the decampees that they have been fully integrated.

Earlier in his speech, the leader of the APGA decampees and former state chairman of the party, Hon. Nkem Okoro, said they decamped to “complete the tsunami of political realignment with APC”, adding that the decision was taken after wide consultation with faithful after Dr. Alex Otti joined APC.

“Today ends our journey in APGA. We will deploy our virtue and commitment to work for APC”, Hon. Okoro said.

This marked the joining of Dr. Alex Otti who decamped recently from APGA to APC by his loyal members.
